At Home In The Vineyard
Ann and Rod are the owners of this wonderfully private oasis tucked up in the hills between Sonoma and Glen Ellen. Ann has many fond memories from growing up in the home but recognized the house was dated; it was time for a renovation. Their appreciation for southwest style; exemplified in their favorite bed and breakfast resort, El Rancho Merlita in Tucson, gave us our design inspiration.
Taking advantage of the remodel effort, they decided to improve other aspects of the property. We added a detached garage with a trellised connection to the home, converted an unfinished basement into a wine room, planted a vineyard, updated the septic system, altered the shape of the pool and patio, and trimmed an overgrown landscape to bring in more sun. They also embraced the latest sustainable energy technology by incorporating solar PV panels and a Tesla House Battery.
3072 sq. ft. residential remodel with a new 372 sq. ft. conditioned lower level.
New 600 sq. ft. detached garage connected to home by timber trellis.
Completed in spring of 2018.
