Farmhouse Compound
Originally from Oregon, our client made a career at Microsoft, did a lot of travelling, and earned the ability to purchase a 5-acre farm in much the much sunnier climate of Sonoma. A veteran of historic remodel projects, she brought her insightful vision of how to combine old and new design elements to the renovation of this 100 year-old farm house. We converted the old attic into a usable third floor through the introduction of 3 new dormers to provide more headroom. We also added bay windows and porticos around the home for better human-scale transition from inside to out. The owner drove the interior design with a diverse collection of fixtures and artwork, and a new wrap-around porch facing the rear yard completed this renovation.
Our work with on this property continued with the relocation and remodeling of an old stable, a new garage complete with exercise room and office above, a new carport, and a new Mid-century Modern pool house and pool. The final piece will be the restoration of an 1863 barn structure that used to be a home.
